Dollars and Sense For Everyday Life

The world’s become a complex place, hasn’t it? Never have human beings had so much to manage in their day-to-day lives. Change seems relentless and the need to assimilate information in order to keep learning is a constant. The organization and management of the financial sides of our lives are good examples of what we’re up against. While there’s loads of information available to help us deal with any aspect of personal finance, translating the information into knowledge so that we can make decisions is probably no easier—and may in fact be harder now -- than it’s ever been. And yet the stakes have never been higher. Most of us have loads more responsibility for our financial futures than people used to have. For instance, the number of people who can count on defined benefit pension plans to secure their retirement has plummeted in the past ten years. So if we’re going to be able to enjoy the longer lives we’re living, most of us now need to figure out retirement for ourselves.

The biggest challenge in all this, however, may be trying to find the time to do the research and thinking with the demands of our jobs, our families, our friends, and our community. For example, becoming conversant with all the options for funding college educations could require hours of time – time that many people can’t find easily today.

Goddard Financial Planning can provide some relief for the schedules of busy people and families. Our clients use us to…

  1. Summarize critical information on an issue or several issues
  2. Frame the alternatives they should consider
  3. Assist them in deciding on a course of action.

With no jargon. Simply. Straightforwardly. We’re doing our job well when our clients feel educated, equipped and empowered to take on the important financial decisions they face.
